About Us
At Trinity we believe the Church is the Body of Christ. We gather as a community to worship together, to grow spiritually through study and prayer, and to serve God by making a positive difference in the world.
Belief
Trinity Lutheran Church invites everyone. As a Lutheran congregation, our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Serving the wider community is at the heart of our mission. We host an AA group and provide space for the Head Start and South Valley Special Needs Preschools.
Our messages and programs are based on the Bible and applied to life in today’s world. We’ll help you navigate challenges as you grow in your faith.
At Trinity we believe the Church is the Body of Christ. We gather as a community to worship together, to grow spiritually through study and prayer, and to serve God by making a positive difference in the world.
We encourage each member and family to grow in their faith by actively participating in the life of our church and by extending our ministry beyond the church doors.
Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We believe in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe. What makes us uniquely Lutheran is our understanding of God’s Word as both Law and Gospel and our view that the Unaltered Augsburg Confession and other Lutheran confessional writings are true confessions of the gospel, along with the ecumenical creeds and Holy Scripture.

Our History
Trinity Lutheran Church was established in 1963 in Lisbon, North Dakota. On December 15, 1963, the congregation joyfully opened the doors of their new sanctuary for worship.
The interior of Trinity Lutheran Church is rich with symbolic artistry designed to reflect the presence of God in both creation and life. The colored glass walls are a vibrant statement of this presence, portraying through a blend of warm and cool colors and dynamic, expanding and contracting movements, the themes of original creation and continual regeneration. These elements symbolize the ongoing cycles found in nature, the evolving nature of human relationships, and our personal relationship with the Creator — representing birth and rebirth, generation and regeneration.
At the front and center of the ceiling hangs a Greek Cross, a powerful symbol of resurrection joy. This cross aligns perfectly with the central aisle, uniting the communion table and its rail, the pulpit, and the baptismal font. This design underscores the core Lutheran belief that the Church is the Priesthood of Believers, gathered as a family beneath the Cross and around the means of Grace.
The communion table itself is intentionally designed as a symbol of the Lord’s Supper rather than a traditional altar or place of sacrifice. Positioned before the communion rail, it emphasizes fellowship and community in the sacrament, deliberately avoiding any sense of separation between the chancel platform and the congregation.
The baptismal font takes the form of a well bucket placed into a yoke. The “well” symbolizes regeneration, a core concept of the Baptism sacrament, while the yoke represents dedication and responsibility. The font’s canopy completes the symbolic design with graphic Trinity symbols and three candles, reinforcing the church’s theological foundation.Trinity Lutheran Church continues to build as our community grows.
